- Muslims strongly condemn new desecration of Qur’an in Sweden
Muslim-majority nations and governments expressed outrage over the second incident of a state-authorized desecration of their holy book in Stockholm, Sweden, in less than a month. Salwan Momika, a Sweden-based Iraqi refugee who burned a copy of the Qur’an in Stockholm on June 28 under the protection of the Swedish police, stomped and kicked another copy of the Qur’an, but left the protest outside Stockholm’s main mosque without burning the holy book.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani strongly condemned the US move to prevent Iran from hosting an international maritime event in October, saying that Washington once again revealed its arrogant and colonial nature. Iran had proposed to host a shipping event in Tehran in late October this year, in conjunction with an annual maritime day hosted by the UN’s International Maritime Organization (IMO), which was accepted in 2015 by the IMO’s Executive Council.

Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy, on Thursday warned that any oil company unloading hundreds of thousands of barrels of seized Iranian oil sitting in a Greek tanker off the coast of Texas would be held accountable. “We hereby declare that we would hold any oil company that sought to unload our crude from the vessel responsible and we also hold America responsible," Tangsiri said, according to Press TV.

Iranian karate athletes claimed two gold and three bronze medals at the 2023 AKF Senior Championships on Friday. Behnam Deghanzadeh earned a gold medal at the Senior Kumite Male -55kg after defeating Jordan’s Omar Shaqrah 6-4 in the final. Atousa Golshadnezhad also took a gold, beating Emirati athlete Sarah Alameri 3-0 at the Senior Kumite Female -61kg. Furthermore, Amir Mehdizadeh won the bronze at the Senior Kumite Male -67 kg.

- Millions Rally to Condemn Qur’an Desecration
Millions of people in Iran and other countries took to the streets on Friday to voice their strong condemnation of the recent desecration of the Holy Qur’an, the second such incident in less than a month, in Sweden. In Iran, mass rallies were held in major cities, a day after a man desecrated the Muslim holy book during a demonstration outside the Iraqi embassy in Stockholm amid strict protection provided by the Swedish police.
