During a meeting with Iraqi Minister of Labor Ahmed Jassim al-Asadi on Wednesday, Mokhber stressed the need to enhance economic cooperation between Iran and Iraq, and said joint factories and a joint free trade zone could significantly contribute to achieving this goal.
He also expressed Iran's willingness to share its extensive expertise in various fields, including science, technology, engineering, medicine, and pharmaceuticals, with Iraq.
The two officials discussed the possibility of improving transportation and banking exchanges to promote greater private sector involvement in the economic development of both countries.
Al-Asadi, for his part, praised Iraq’s newfound stability and expressed optimism that his visit to Iran would further strengthen bilateral cooperation and attract more investments.
He also extended his gratitude for Iran's support in combating terrorism in Iraq, particularly the contributions of the late Iranian commander, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated in a US drone strike in Baghdad in 2020.
