Majid Mohabi, the province’s crisis management director, told IRNA on Sunday that a new wave of strong winds has battered the counties of Zabol, Zahak, Hamoun, Hirmand, and Nimrouz.
A total of 1,047 people have been admitted to hospitals and medical centers since the storm began on July 12, with 92 of them currently receiving medical attention, the official said.
He added that respiratory, cardiac, and ocular issues were among the major health concerns causing citizens to seek medical attention.
The hot and arid Sistan and Baluchestan province is highly susceptible to low-pressure hot air systems and erratic distribution of rainfall, leading to adverse weather conditions.
