According to IRNA, Premier Ntsay received Iranian Ambassador to Madagascar Hassan Ali-Bakhshi at the prime minister’s palace in capital city Antananarivo on Thursday morning.
The Iranian envoy provided Madagascar’s premier with a report on the state of relations between the two countries, when Ali-Bakhshi referred to major areas of collaborations in various areas such as health, agriculture, fisheries and mines.
The prime minister of Madagascar expressed his happiness with the development of ties between the two nations in recent years, declaring his country’s eagerness to expand level of relationship with Iran, especially the establishment of a joint cooperation commission between Tehran and Antananarivo.
The embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Antananarivo has been working for 40 years and it is considered the only Iranian embassy in the Indian Ocean.
