-- Iraqi President: Relations With Iran ‘Strong’

Iraq’s President Abdul Latif Rashid has hailed “strong” relations with Iran, saying in an exclusive interview with Al-Alam News Network that the two neighboring countries consult regularly on all issues of mutual concern.
Rashid emphasized that Tehran and Baghdad have been “proactive” in reaching agreements beneficial for both sides.
“I believe our relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran has reached a very good stage and consultations are continuous if not daily, then on a weekly basis in all sectors, trade, business, security, and even in some cases on the diplomatic level. All these issues are there,” he said.

--  ‘Ti Ti’ Makes It to Iranisches Festival in Germany

TEHRAN -- Iranian feature ‘Ti Ti’ has made its way to the Iranisches Film Festival in Germany. ‘Ti Ti’, directed by Ida Panahandeh, will take part in the 8th edition of the event.
The film is about a professor who seeks to prove his theory on the end of world.
The movie, Panahandeh’s fourth film, is starring Elnaz Shakerdoust, Parsa Pirouzfar, and Houtan Shakiba. The film previously took part in the Iranian Film Festival of Zurich (IFFZ) in Switzerland, the Rabat International Author Film Festival (FICAR) in Morocco, and the Duhok International Film Festival in Iraq.

--  Iranian Animation on Palestine Competes at Italian Festival

TEHRAN -- ‘Before Heaven’, Iranian animation on Palestine is competing at the Cartoon Club- International Festival of Animation Cinema, Comics and Game- in Italy. Written and directed by Ahmad Heidarian, the animated peace is representing Iran at this year’s edition of the event.
The six-minute film has anti-Zionist messages, aiming to bring the voice of Palestine to the world. The animated piece has previously won the best animation award at the Cannes Film Festival in France.

-- Volleyball expert hits out at Iran coaching staff

Former Iran volleyball star Behnam Mahmoudi believes that the national team's results in the 2023 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) are unacceptable. Iran lost 10 games out of 12 matches in the edition. The team came 14th in the tournament, which is the worst performance for Iranian volleyball in the VNL's history.

The disappointing results of Team Melli raised concerns among the volleyball experts and led them to criticize the team's performance as well as the technical staff.

--  ICCIMA head calls for joint investment with Omani private sector

 The head of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) has called for promoting joint investment between the private sectors of Iran and Oman in order to boost the trade exchanges between the two countries.

Hossein Selahvarzi made the remarks in a meeting with Omani Ambassador to Tehran Ibrahim bin Ahmed Almuaini on Monday.

--  Mashhad’s Q1 medical tourism revenues jump 35% y/y

 Mashhad’s medical tourism revenues were about 1.119 trillion rials (some $2.2 million) during the first three months of the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 21), which shows 35 percent growth year on year.

Moreover, the number of international travelers receiving medical services rose seven percent year on year, according to Davood Khosh-shekan, who presides over the medical tourism department at the Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.

A total of 13,948 foreign nationals received medical services in Mashhad this spring while the number reached 13,074 in the same period last year, Khosh-shekan explained on Tuesday.
