The event was held on Monday on the occasion of June 21, World Hydrography Day.
ECDIS is an advanced electronic navigation system that is installed on military and commercial vessels, Head of Armed Forces Geographical Organization Second Brigadier General Majid Fakhri said.
It displays electronic maps with information hidden in its different layers on its screen, he added.
The domestic ECDIS makes navigation operations easy, pleasant, and most importantly smart and automatic for the navigation officer or ship captain, he noted.
The ceremony was attended by Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani and some other officials.
