-- Iran exporting shrimp to 21 countries: IFO
A total of 37,000 tons of shrimp were exported during the last Iranian year (ended March 20), announced the director general of Iran Fisheries Organization (IFO), adding that the country is currently exporting shrimp to over 20 countries.
Vahid Madani made the comments on Saturday, noting that farmed shrimp in the country is currently exported to Russia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), China, Qatar and Turkey
-- Iran to launch six petrochemical projects: NPC
Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) said on Saturday that six petrochemical projects, costing $2.7 billion and, with the nominal production capacity of about 5 million tons/year, will come on stream by the end of the current Iranian year (March 19, 2024).
NPC Chief Executive Morteza Shahmirzaei also noted that the Hoveyzeh Gas Refinery in the Persian Gulf was put into operation about a month ago.
-- OIC plans emergency meeting over Qur’an desecration
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has decided to hold an emergency meeting over the recent desecration of the Holy Qur’an in the Swedish capital of Stockholm.
The intergovernmental body’s Executive Committee is to convene in Jeddah next week “under the invitation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the President of the [OIC’s] Islamic Summit” to discuss the act of sacrilege.

-- Top Politician: Iran Protected Iraq Against Daesh
BAGHDAD (Dispatches) -- The leader of the Fatah (Conquest) Alliance in the Iraqi parliament has hailed the heroic sacrifices made by Iranian military advisors in the fight against Daesh Takfiri terrorists, saying the Islamic Republic played a significant role in preserving Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Hadi al-Ameri, who is also the secretary general of Iraq’s Badr Organization, made the remarks on Friday as he addressed a tribal gathering in the southern Iraqi province of Dhi Qar.
-- Oil Output to Rise 16% by End of 7th Development Plan
According to the 7th Five-Year Socioeconomic and Cultural Development Plan, Iran’s oil production capacity will reach from 3,838,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) to 4,450,00 barrels (bpd) by the end of the implementation of the Plan.
Hence, Iran’s oil production volume will witness a 16-percent hike in this period.
-- Rome Holds Persian Language Course
The 57th Persian language course in Rome held by Iran’s cultural attaché in Rome and the Sa’di Foundation representative wound up after holding the final exam.
The course, which began on April 15, was held virtually in three preliminary, elementary and intermediate levels in ten 90-minute sessions by Persian language teacher Mehrnaz Montaseri.

-- Iranian lawmaker condemns crackdown on French protestors
An Iranian lawmaker has denounced the French government’s crackdown on the protests that erupted in the wake of the killing of a teenager by a police officer.
Yaghoub Rezazadeh, who is a member of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, told parliamentary news agency ICANA that protests in France have broken out over human rights violations.
-- Moscow, St. Petersburg to host Iranian Cultural Week
The Russian cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg will be hosting an Iranian Cultural Week, which will start on July 4. Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) will organize the event with contributions from the Embassy of Iran in Moscow.
Several art exhibitions and workshops, Iranian film screenings, musical concerts and computer games competitions will be held during the festival, the ICRO announced on Saturday.
-- National Industry, Mining Day celebrated
The National Industry and Mining Day was celebrated at Tehran's Islamic Summit Conference Hall on Saturday.
The ceremony, which was the 27th edition of the event, was attended by President Ebrahim Raisi, Industry, Mining and Trade Minister Abbas Ali-Abadi and some of his deputies, some MPS, and some directors of industrial and mining companies. During the event, 58 exemplary industrial and mining units were honored.
