Hassan Hanizadeh, a regional political expert, pointed to the idea of establishing a regional dialogue and cooperation forum by the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding that the comprehensive dialogue plan proposed by the secretary-general of the United Nations was proposed in the framework of the Raisi administration’s policies to promote regional convergence.
Regional convergence and harmony will naturally bolster sustainable development between regional countries, he noted.
Hanizadeh went on to say that the West Asia region paid heavy costs over the past four decades because trans-regional powers exploited existing gaps in the views of nations on both sides of the Persian Gulf, which led to a delay in the development of the countries.
The current peace has its roots in multiple agreements between regional countries, which will lead to a reduction of the presence of foreign powers in the Persian Gulf region, the pundit added.
On a proposal on the establishment of a naval coalition between Iran, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Oman, he said that security and stability in the Persian Gulf would become indigenous and the United States’ presence will gradually fade away.
