Eid al-Adha prayers held across Iran

Tehran, IRNA- Prayer ceremonies have been held across Iran to celebrate Eid al-Adha, which marks the end of the hajj pilgrimage to Mecca.

Eid al-Adha prayers were conducted in mosques and prayer halls nationwide on Thursday morning.

Residents of Tehran also congregated at Tehran University to observe the prayer.

Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, holds great importance in Islam and commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi extended his congratulations to Muslim countries on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

In separate messages on Wednesday, President Raisi conveyed his greetings to leaders of Islamic nations and expressed hope that this auspicious occasion would help foster greater unity among Muslims worldwide.
