Brigadier General Radan met and conferred with General Zolotov on Wednesday, the second day of his official visit to Russia.
The two officials signed a long-term agreement to expand security and law enforcement cooperation between Iran and Russia.
Earlier in the day, Iran’s police chief held a meeting with Nikolay Patrushev, secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, and discussed interaction between special services and law enforcement agencies of their countries.
They signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly combat drug trafficking, organized crime and smuggling.
Prior to Radan’s visit to Moscow, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi spoke on the phone with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, and offered the Islamic Republic’s full support for Russia’s national sovereignty amid a failed mutiny by the paramilitary Wagner group.
The two presidents also discussed measures to ensure regional stability, as well as ways to expand trade, energy and transport cooperation.
