The report, dubbed “statistical review of world energy”, was released by the institute after British Petroleum which published the report for 70 years said last year it would not publish the report any more.
The new report says that despite the tough western sanctions on Iran, the country’s production of oil and gas condensates grew by 4.1% to 3.313 million barrels per day in 2022.
Iran became the world’s eighth biggest oil producer in the year with a 4.1% share of the total world production, according to the report.
The US, Russia and Saudi Arabia with 14.6%, 13.1% and 12.9% shares of the world production ranked in the first to third places of global oil producers, respectively.
The figures provided by the report also indicate that Iran’s gas production rose 1.1% to hit 259 billion cubic meters in 2022.
Iran’s gas production accounted for 6.4% of the world aggregate production in the year so that the country became the world’s third biggest gas producer in the year under review after the US and Russia, respectively.
