Speaking at a meeting of the OPEC Fund Development Forum 2023 in Vienna on Thursday, Ehsan Khandouzi described the forum as an opportunity for representatives of member states to come together to explore horizons for cooperation and exchanging of ideas.
He noted that OPEC member countries support the Fund's efforts to meet sustainable development goals and to boost development programs in less developed countries.
Pointing to Iran's incumbent government’s emphasis on the need to support less developed countries in the Muslim world, he noted that the policy is aimed at achieving comprehensive development across the Islamic Ummah.
He underlined that the OPEC Fund must provide more support to the private sector in member countries, adding that this could be the key to successful development programs in any country.
