The Aras River is monitored with regard to radioactive materials once a year and online monitoring facilities will also be installed in that area soon, INRA said in its report responding to a claim made by the media.
According to INRA experts, there is a long distance between Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant in Armenia and the Aras River, and there is no possibility that wastewater from this power plant into can leak the river and contaminate it with radioactive materials.
