President Raisi left Havana for Tehran late on Thursday after completing his trip to three Latin American countries at the official invitation of the presidents of Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba.
Raisi was accorded a warm welcome by his Cuban counterpart Miguel Díaz-Canel in Havana on Thursday morning local time.
High-ranking officials of Iran and Cuba signed six cooperation pacts in the presence of the two countries' presidents.
The cooperation agreements covered judicial, political, and customs areas, as well as information technology, and were signed by senior Iranian and Cuban officials.
During his visit to Cuba, President Raisi met and held talks with Raul Castro, the spiritual leader of Cuba and the late Fidel Castro's brother.
Raisi also made a visit to the Center for Genetic Engineering (CIGB) in Havana and was closely informed about the latest developments and joint cooperation between this institute and Iranian companies.
In this trip to three Latin American countries, which was aimed at developing relations and increasing the level of interactions in various fields, a total of 28 cooperation documents were signed by high-ranking officials of Iran and the three Latin American countries.
