In the meeting with Bakhtiar late on Tuesday, Amirabdollahian said developing relations with Asian countries is a priority for Iran.
Amirabdollahian also stressed the need to make maximum use of the potentials that exist in bilateral, regional, and international cooperation with China.
Emphasizing the need for the full implementation of the 25-year comprehensive cooperation program between the Iran and Chinas, he also called for the implementation of agreements made between the two countries during President Ebrahim Raisi's March visit to China.
Former Iranian ambassador to China Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh had announced the end of his "successful" mission in the country in a Twitter post earlier this week.
The diplomat said his achievements during his time as ambassador to China included the delivery of some 120 million doses of coronavirus vaccine from China to Iran, finalizing a 25-year strategic partnership deal between the two countries, and an agreement reached between Iran and Saudi Arabia in Beijing in March to restore their diplomatic ties.
