Official visits Iran's interim consular office for hajj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia

Tehran, IRNA- An Iranian Foreign Ministry official has visited the Islamic Republic’s interim consular services office for pilgrims attending the upcoming hajj season in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia.

Alireza Bigdeli, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Expatriates Affairs, visited the office on Sunday and inquired about the process of providing consular services to the Iranian pilgrims.

The deputy foreign minister emphasized during his visit that wherever there is a group of Iranians in the world, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs strives to provide services and support to them.

The Consular Services Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Mecca and Medina offers various services, including necessary guidance and advice on consular and legal matters, issuing travel documents such as passports and necessary certifications, providing legal support to Iranian pilgrims if necessary, and issuing registry certificates.

The Islamic Republic officially reopened its embassy in the Saudi capital of Riyadh and its Consulate in the port city of Jeddah earlier this week, four months after the two countries agreed to re-launch their diplomatic relations under a deal brokered by China.
