The Geneva-based WIPO, which is a subsidiary of the United Nations, issued an official patent on June 8 with the registration number AO-1273 to recognize the Hamedan Garlic as an intellectual property, Qasemi Farzad said on Sunday.
He added that garlic is the third crop produced in Hamedan province that has been registered on WIPO's list with the two other two being the raisin of Malayer and the walnut crop produced in Tuyserkan.
