-- U.S. sanctions on Iran hampers int’l will to promote social justice: Minister

The unilateral coercive measures imposed by the U.S. against Iran is a clear example of the deprivation of people from the right to development, health and growth opportunities, said the Iranian labor minister, adding that the sanctions is in clear contradiction with the international will to promote social justice.
Speaking at the 111th session of the International Labour Conference in the Swiss capital, Geneva, Solat Mortazavi added that sanctions are actually a form of institutionalized discrimination against a community by depriving its members of opportunities for individual growth and enjoying decent work and life.

-- Persian language courses held in five Russian cities

The 15th iteration of the Persian language training course for Russian nationals took place across five cities in Russia, namely, Moscow, Ural, Kazan, Saratov, and North Ossetia.
The course, overseen by the Iranian Cultural Attaché Masoud Ahmadvand, included supplementary instruction for a group exceeding 120 participants enrolled in introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels.

--  Improper off-roading could harm flora and fauna in Lut Desert

The Lut Desert, widely referred to as Dasht-e Lut, is among unique tourist attractions of Kerman Province. It lures a large number of foreign and domestic visitors every year.
Travelers enjoy spending the night under the dark and starry skies of the desert surrounded by its deep silence. Lut is also home to shifting sands, salt plains, meteorite fields, and rocky terrain, which offers tourists breathtaking vistas and unparalleled serenity of the intact nature and wilderness.
Lut Desert is divided into the northern, central and southern sections. There are several kaluts in the central part that extend to its western side. Kaluts are high sand dunes created by wind erosion, the height of some of which is more than 155 meters.

-- Iran Quashes Report of ‘Interim Deal’ With U.S.

Tehran has roundly rejected reports that Iran and the United States were are concluding an interim agreement under which Iran would curb its nuclear program in return for sanctions relief.
The outright rebuttal by Iran’s UN mission on Thursday came after London-based Middle East Eye (MEE) news and analysis website claimed that the countries were close to clinching such a deal to revive the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

-- Iran, Neighbors Cooperating to Secure Persian Gulf

Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri said Friday there is no need for trans-regional forces in the Persian Gulf, saying Iran and neighboring countries are cooperating to guarantee the security of the strategic waterway.
Rear Admiral Tangsiri said that The Persian Gulf belongs to the countries of this region and they can establish its security themselves.

-- Tehran Calls for Probe Into Ukraine Dam Destruction

Iran on Thursday expressed opposition to the war in Ukraine and called for identifying the main cause and perpetrators of the destruction of a dam in the country’s Kherson region.
In a tweet, Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani reiterated Tehran’s opposition to the war in Ukraine, the destruction of civilian infrastructure and threatening the lives of civilians.

-- Karlovy Vary festival to spotlight new generation of Iranian filmmakers in “Another Birth”

The 57th edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival will celebrate the new generation of independent Iranian filmmakers in a special section entitled “Another Birth. Iranian Cinema, Here and Now”.

Nine films offering “an insightful testimony of the burning creativity of Iran’s artists in face of the challenging reality” will be screened in this section, announced the organizers of the Czech festival, which will take place from June 30 to July 8 in Karlovy Vary in Czech.

-- Tourism minister attends hotel inauguration ceremonies in Tabriz

 On Thursday, the Iranian tourism minister Ezzatollah Zarghami attended the inauguration ceremonies of a 4-start hotel and a boutique hotel during his visit to Tabriz.

The six-story Royal Palace Hotel and a fully restored luxurious house of a 19th-century merchant were opened to the public during the ceremonies.

-- Boys and girls teams learn fate at 2023 CAVA

 The drawing of lots for the 2023 Central Asian Volleyball Association Boys and Girls U16 Volleyball Championships was conducted online by the CAVA Events and Referee Committee on Wednesday.

The inaugural edition of the Championships will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan between July 14 and 20, 2023, with nine teams comprising five men’s and four women’s teams joining the fray.
