- Heads of CBI, IMF hold ‘constructive’ meeting in US
Mohammad Reza Farzin, governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), held a “constructive” meeting with Kristalina Georgieva, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, D.C. Farzin also expressed satisfaction with the improvement of Iran’s relations with the organization following a period of suspended cooperation, according to cbi.ir.
- IAEA chief: Some progress made over recent deal with Tehran
UN nuclear watchdog chief Rafael Grossi said some progress has been made over the implementation of a recent agreement reached between the agency and Tehran. Addressing a regular meeting of the 35-member board of governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Monday, Grossi said “some progress has been made, but not as much as I had hoped”, adding that what had been done so far was “a fraction of what we envisaged”.
- Iran to reopen diplomatic missions in Saudi Arabia this week
Iran’s Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Nasser Kanaani said on Monday Iran will reopen its diplomatic missions in Saudi Arabia this week after seven-year closure. Kanaani said that Iran’s Embassy in Riyadh and its Consulate in Jeddah and its representative office to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) “will be officially reopened on Tuesday and Wednesday”.

Iran has reacted to the travel warning issued by the Azerbaijani foreign ministry regarding travel to Iran, saying that the Azerbaijani government should get its citizen scared of Israel, not Iran.
- Iran can be a reliable partner for BRICS: Amir Abdollahian
“The Islamic Republic of Iran, along with other like-minded and interested countries, can be a reliable partner for BRICS in future,” Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian told the Friends of BRICS Foreign Ministers Meeting in Cape Town, South Africa, on Friday.
- Iran insists it is ready to train Taliban border guards
The deputy police chief has insisted on Iran’s previous proposal that the Islamic Republic is ready to “train” Taliban border guards to observe protocols in order to prevent border clashes, Mehr reported on Saturday. The proposal by Brigadier General Qassem Rezaei came after a border clash between Iranian and Taliban forces on May 27 led to the killing of an Iranian border guard and an Afghan one.

- Leader: Strengthen Faith and Hope
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Sunday said any compromise with the West would only invite further hostility from Iran’s enemies. “Some people are mistaken to think if we back down from our stances in certain cases that will cause the enmity of the U.S., the global arrogance, or Israel toward us to diminish,” the Leader said in a speech marking the passing of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, at his mausoleum in southern Tehran.
- Protesters, Police Clash Outside Netanyahu Residence
Zionist forces have clashed with protesters who had gathered near prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s private residence to express their anger over his controversial judicial reform plan.
They arrested a total of 17 people, three of whom were detained close to Netanyahu’s private residence and 14 others outside police stations.
- Grossi: Progress Made in Talks With Iran
Head of the UN nuclear agency said Monday progress has been made in the implementation of a joint statement with Iran aimed at expediting the resolution of outstanding safeguards issues. Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Mariano Grossi said despite the progress, “sustained and uninterrupted process” is still required. He made the remarks in his introductory statement to the Board of Governors here as he outlined his latest report on Verification and monitoring in the Islamic Republic of Iran in light of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231 (2015).
