Kanaani wrote on his Twitter account on Saturday that recent decisions by UN member states to appoint Iran to high positions in the body showed that time is no longer on US and Israel’s side.
He said that the US has pursued unilateralism and has weakened multilateralism in the UN for decades while misusing its veto-wielding power in the UN to support the apartheid Zionist regime and to undermine credibility of the UN.
Member states of the UN voted on Thursday to choose the president of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 78), which will open on September 5, 2023. Iran was elected as one of the 21 vice presidents of the UNGA 78.
