"Khorramshahr has become a symbol of pride and resistance for Iranians, said Kanaani in a Twitter post on Wednesday, on the occasion of the Liberation of Khorramshahr, and referred to the words of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in this regard saying, "The epic of resistance and liberation of Khorramshahr is a unique event in the history of the world."
Khorramshahr epic must find its deserved position in the world, Kanaani added.
Ordibehesht 3 (May 24) is an important date in Iran's history because it marks the liberation of the city of Khorramshahr, Khouzestan province, southwestern Iran, from the grip of the Ba'athist army, in 1982.
