Iran's Raisi stresses need to expand ties with neighbors, Muslim nations

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Sunday voiced his government's readiness to give a boost to relations with Muslim and neighboring countries, as well as other friendly states.

President Raisi made the remarks in reference to a recent meeting of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei with Iranian Foreign Ministry officials and Iranian ambassadors to other countries where the Supreme Leader underlined the significance of establishing more enhanced relations with Muslim and neighboring countries, as well as with friendly nations.

President Raisi said that not only the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but all the executive bodies of the Iranian government should pursue the issue of expanding ties with friendly countries seriously.

Iran’s relations with target countries have witnessed a significant rise in less than two years, the president said.

He, however, noted that given the existing potentials, these relations are expected to grow even further in the future.
