Iran, Russia discuss joint measures to counter terrorism, cyber crimes

Moscow, IRNA – Top Iranian and Russian judicial officials have met in Moscow to discuss joint measures to counter terrorism and cyber crimes.

The meeting was held late on Tuesday between Iran's Supreme Court chief Ahmad Mortazavi Moqaddam and Russia’s Prosecutor General Igor Victorovich Krasno. 

During the meeting, Mortazavi underlined the importance of continued cooperation between Tehran and Moscow in the fight against organized crimes, cyber crimes, extremism, and terrorism.

He also called for increased exchange of experiences between the judiciaries of Iran and Russia.

The Iranian official further termed such bilateral meetings as good opportunities for fighting corruption and strengthening judicial systems in both countries.

In the meeting, Krasno explained about his mandate as Russian prosecutor general to crack down on crimes and to supervise the execution of justice in Russia.

Mortazavi Moqaddam arrived in Moscow on Monday evening. His five-day Moscow visit takes place at the invitation of the Russian side.
