Sharifi ranked second in the bench press of the 83- kilogram weight class in the the tournament on Thursday.
He lifted a record of 210 kilograms, earning the silver medal in the category. He also lifted 290 kilograms in the squat and 250 kilograms in the deadlift to finish fourth in total with 750 kilograms.
On Wednesday, Mehdi Shajirati of Iran had won the bronze medal in the 59-kilogram weight class in the bench press category.
