Rajabali Qorbanzadeh, who serves as head of planning and budget office of Iran Fisheries Organization, said on Wednesday that Iran's fisheries exports rose by 9% last calendar year compared with the year to March 2022.
Qorbanzadeh made the announcement at a gathering in western Iran where he said that rivers, lakes and aquaculture facilities inside Iran were responsible for 31% of the country’s fishery output last calendar year.
He said that based on current economic development plans, Iran's fisheries production should reach 2.6 million metric tons (mt) from a current figure of 1.5 million mt.
