Iran-China trade expanded since Raisi assumed office: Chinese envoy

Tehran, IRNA – China’s ambassador to Iran has said that economic relations between Beijing and Tehran have expanded noticeably ever since President Ebrahim Raisi assumed office.

Since President Raisi became the president of Iran, the economic relations between Iran and China expanded in a way that at the end of 2022, the volume of trade between Iran and China increased by 7%, Chang Hua was quoted as saying by Navade Eghtesadi on Tuesday.

According to data released by China’s customs administration earlier this year, the Islamic Republic and China traded $15.795 billion worth of commodities in 2022, some $1.035 billion or 7% more than the trade figure reported for 2021.

Iran and China officially signed a 25-year partnership agreement for comprehensive cooperation in March 2021.

Chang said China has been Iran’s largest trading partner for 10 consecutive years.

He also invited Iranian companies to attend more economic and trade fairs in China.
