Solving Yemen's humanitarian issues must be prioritized: Iran

Khaji made the comments in in a meeting with Sweden's special envoy for Yemen Peter Semneby in Tehran on Saturday.

The two sides discussed the latest political and humanitarian developments in Yemen, especially with regards recent peace talks held between warring sides in the Yemeni capital Sanaa.

Expressing satisfaction over the progress of the talks, they hoped that the initiative would ease the suffering of the Yemeni people and establish lasting peace in the country.

Khaji said one of the significant current issues raised in the Yemeni case is lifting of the economic blockade from the Yemeni people and establishing a ceasefire in the country, noting that resolving Yemen's humanitarian problems should be a priority.
