Transit through INSTC more than quadruples

Tehran, IRNA – The International North-South Transit Corridor (INSTC) has witnessed a whopping surge in cargo transit after its marine route via the Caspian Sea became operational by Khazar Sea Shipping Lines Company (KSSLC), according to the company's managing director.

Kambiz Jahanbani made the statement on Saturday without elaborating on when exactly the INSTC's marine route had been activated.

Jahanbani said, however, that the fleet of transit vessels supplied by KSSLC, a subsidiary of Iran’s maritime flag carrier (IRISL), has grown more than demand.

He added that the company is fully prepared to carry out multimodal transit operations via the INSTC and through ports on the Caspian Sea from Asia to Russia and other countries in Eurasia region.
