Amirabdollahian made the comments during a joint press conference with his Lebanese counterpart Abdallah Rashid Bouhabib on Thursday in Beirut where he is on an official visit at the head of a high-ranking political delegation.
Briefing reporters, the top Iranian diplomat said that his discussions Bouhabib had focused on Tehran-Beirut relations as well as on regional and international developments, from the ongoing fighting in Sudan to the war in Ukraine and to a recent deal between Iran and Saudi Arabia to restore their diplomatic relations.
Amirabdollahian said that he had told his Lebanese counterpart that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to further expand economic, trade and tourism ties with Lebanon.
The Iranian foreign minister arrived in Beirut on Wednesday on the second leg of his regional tour that also took him to Oman earlier this week.
