Data from the National Water Data and Information center (NWDI) released on Tuesday showed that the supply of water in Iranian dams had increased to 27.27 billion cubic meters (bcm) in the current water year, up 26 percent from the same period last year.
An accelerated melting of snow covers due to a rise in temperatures combined with high precipitation levels in recent months have pushed up water intakes at reservoirs in Iran, according to the NWDI.
Meanwhile, the outflow of water from Iranian reservoirs rose to 15.54 billion bcm in the current water year through April 22, from 14.53 cbm recorded during the same previous period.
Currently, dam reservoirs in Iran hold an estimated 30.8 billion bcm of water, showed the data.
