Speaking with IRNA, Amirabdollahian said that during the past 18 months upon an order issued by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the foreign ministry got involved in serious talks with the caretaker and the interim rulers of Afghanistan, and the President's Special Envoy in Afghanistan Affairs Kazemi Qomi, too pursued the matter incessantly, while Iran's Energy Minister has pursued the matter as well seriously side by side of the foreign ministry's concerned officials.
"In my recent negotiations with the caretaker of Afghanistan Foreign Ministry, too, I pursued the issue of Iran's right of the Hirmand river," added Amirabdollahian.
He said that those collective efforts will continue till achieving the desired result.
"Iranian citizens of Sistan are quite right in their protests about this issue, and the esteemed president, too, has repeatedly emphasized on the great importance of this issue and the need to resolve the problem through diplomatic efforts," Amirabdollahian said.
