Amirabdollahian was speaking on the phone with Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement Ziad Nakhaleh on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, a Muslim holiday that marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
The top Iranian diplomat congratulated Nakhaleh and the Palestinian people on Eid al-Fitr.
He told the Palestinian official that the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue its spiritual and political support for the Palestinian people and their resistance in the path of liberating the occupied territories, and the formation of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.
Amirabdollahian also referred to remarks on Palestine that Supreme Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei made earlier on Saturday on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, in which the leader said the Zionist regime is on the decline and urged the Islamic countries to increase support for the Palestinians.
The top diplomat said the decline of the Zionist regime, the ongoing developments in Palestine coupled with Palestinians’ unity and global solidarity with them are all regraded as an important asset.
Ziad Nakhaleh, on his part, congratulated the Iranian people and government on Eid al-Fitr, sending his warm greetings to the Supreme Leader and President Ebrahim Raisi.
Nakhaleh also expressed his gratitude to Iran for its support to the Palestinian nation, and said that Palestinian groups are united in defending Al-Quds and achieved victories in recent years.
