The customs figures cited in a Thuresday report by IRNA showed that Iran-China trade exchanges had reached $4.045 billion in the January-March, up from $3.855 billion reported in the same period in 2022.
China imported $1.135 billion worth of goods from Iran during the mentioned period, a decline of 41% year on year. The IRNA blamed a 20% drop in oil prices over the March quarter for the drop in the value of Iranian exports to China over the period.
Meanwhile, China's exports to Iran grew 51% in the first quarter of 2023 as the East Asian country exported $2.910 billion worth of goods to the Islamic Republic over that period.
