Reza Akbari, the director of Iran’s Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization, made the remarks on Tuesday while visiting the Miami-Sabzevar road where the Asiatic cheetah is frequently seen.
He said that the organization has short-term plans to calm the traffic of cars, increase the number of lights on the road and install more traffic signs along the path before the busy travel begins in summer.
The measures comes few weeks after a female cheetah was killed in a car accident in the road which passes through Touran protected area in Miami, Semnan Province. The cheetah was pregnant with three cubs.
