Abbas arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport in the city of Jeddah on Monday night, where he was greeted by a number of officials, including the deputy governor of Mecca, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
According to Palestinian WAFA news agency, Mahmoud Abbas is due to meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman on Tuesday to discuss a host of issues, including the latest developments regarding Palestine.
On Sunday, April 16, a high-ranking delegation of the Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas traveled to Saudi Arabia as well.
The delegation, led by Chairman of Hamas’s Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh and senior official Khaled Meshaal, was due to discuss key issues, including the restoration of ties between Hamas and the kingdom, with Saudi officials, according to Palestinian media.
