President Raisi made the remarks on Sunday in a meeting with Hicabi Kırlangıç, the newly appointed Turkish ambassador to Tehran who presented his copy of credentials to the president at the meeting.
Describing the ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkiye as long-standing and deep-rooted, President Raisi underlined that despite the attempts of the ill-wishers of the Islamic states, “we must” rely on the religious and cultural common grounds to see the deepening and development of ties among Islamic states in various areas day by day.
The support of the oppressed Palestinians is the common ground for all Islamic states, he said, adding that today, confronting the crimes of the Zionist Regime towards the oppressed Palestinian nation is the demand of the Muslims.
He further stressed that it is essential for the Islamic governments to be more coordinated in standing up against the atrocities of the usurper Zionist Regime.
Hicabi Kırlangıç, for his part, termed the ties between Iran and Turkiye as brotherly and friendly, assuring that he will do his best to improve the level of cooperation and increase exchanges besides interactions between the two sides.
