Many countries send aircraft to Iran for repairs: Minister

Bazrpash said on Saturday that Iran was once not capable of repairing aircraft parts, but it now repairs the aircraft for many countries.

“Before, we were not capable of repairing a single part, but today, many aircraft parts are repaired inside the country,” he said.

“Also, many countries send their aircraft to our country for maintenance, which is a good thing, and this [trend] should be accelerated,” he added.

Earlier this month, Russia’s largest air carrier sent one of its planes to Iran for repair, as part of an agreement on cooperation in civil aviation between the two countries amid Western sanctions on Russia over the war in Ukraine.

“The maintenance of the Airbus A330 aircraft (in Iran) will be implemented by a provider for a wide range of work,” Russian Airlines, commonly known as Aeroflot, said in a statement on Tuesday.

Bazrpash further explained, “Russia and some other countries have come to our country for aircraft maintenance. Now an aircraft repair market has been established inside the country.”
