Muslims from different countries as well as anti-Zionist Jews attended the rally, which was held under security measures.
They held Palestinian flags as well as placards expressing support for the liberation of the occupied territories and condemning the crimes of the Israeli regime while chanting slogans for the liberation of Palestine.
Members of the international Jewish organization “Neturei Karta”, which is a group of anti-Zionist Jews in New York, also attended the event.
Back in 1979, the founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini declared the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as “Quds Day”. The day is marked by massive marches across the world every year.
The speakers at the event highlighted the need for unity among Muslims against the Zionist regime, urging the United States not to support Israel and cut off its aid to the regime.
In addition to the flag of Palestine, some marchers also held the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the picture of Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, the secretary general of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance group.
The demonstration came a week after hundreds of people marched in Times Square to condemn the Israeli regime’s acts of aggression against Palestinians, particularly the desecration of al-Aqsa Mosque.
