Al Budaiwi said in a statement released late on Sunday that the continuation of brutal attacks on holy sites in the occupied lands is a dangerous event.
In the statement, Al Budaiwi said that shooting attacks on Muslims’ first Qibla is an insult on Islamic sanctities and a violation of international regulations and resolutions adopted by the United Nations.
The Zionist regime of Israel is solely responsible for all those attacks which fan the flames of hatred and sedition, said the statement.
The statement further emphasized on the (P)GCC’s firm stance on the issue of Palestine and expressed support from efforts by Council members to help establish a Palestinian state based on international resolutions.
Budaiwi called on the global community to take practical steps towards safeguarding the civilians in Palestine and to end efforts by the Zionists to change the legal situation of the holy Quds.
Recently, the Zionist military forces have started a new round of aggression against Palestinians at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
On March 5, Zionist forces attacked the mosque and injured hundreds of Palestinians and tried to expel the worshippers.
Since that day, Al-Aqsa has turned into a scene of confrontation between the Zionists and the Palestinian worshippers.
In response to the aggression, the Palestinian resistance groups have shot missiles at the settlements in the vicinity of the Gaza Strip and at targets in northern parts of the occupied lands.
