According to IRNA’s correspondent in New York, the demonstrators, who were from various nationalities and different ages, shouted slogans in solidarity with Palestine and demanded an end to its occupation by the Israeli regime.
They also chanted anti-Zionist slogans and waved the Palestinian flag to show their support for the oppressed people of Palestine, while slamming the silence of international bodies in the face of Israel’s blatant crimes.
The protesters carried placards that read “Hands off al-Aqsa”, “Free Palestine”, and “Boycott Israeli Apartheid”.
The occupying regime has escalated its violent acts against Palestinian worshipers at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound since Tuesday night when Israeli forces fired tear gas, stun grenades, and rubber-coated steel bullets at Palestinians.
In an act of retaliation, resistance forces fired at least 30 rockets from southern Lebanon into the Israeli-occupied territories. Gaza-based resistance fighters also fired several rockets into the occupied territories, where the regime’s Iron Dome failed to intercept most of the rockets.
The Israeli violence also prompted retaliatory operations by resistance fighters within the occupied territories. On Friday, at least three Israeli settlers were killed in separate shooting and car-ramming operations in the occupied West Bank and Tel Aviv.
