-- Leader: Arab world’s relations with Iran improving

In a meeting with various officials from the three branches of the Establishment, Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei stated that the political developments of the world are undergoing a rapid transformation while weakening the enemies of the Islamic Republic.

“In order to take advantage of this opportunity, we must increase our dynamism, initiative and activities in foreign policy,” said the Leader.

“The U.S. is one of Iran’s most important foes in the world. Facts show that America was weaker under the Obama administration than under the Bush administration. The U.S. was weaker under the Trump administration than under the Obama administration. The U.S. is weaker under this man’s [Biden’s] administration than under the Trump administration.”

-- Iran Welcomes U.S. Call for Peace in Yemen

Iran on Wednesday welcomed a U.S. call to help end the long-running conflict in Yemen by backing a peace process, one year after a United Nations-brokered truce dramatically reduced fighting. Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani described the envoy's call as "gratifying", stressing that Tehran had been "striving for a peace process since the beginning of the war".

-- Iran has specific plan to curb inflation, boost production: Khandouzi

The minister of economic affairs and finance said on Wednesday that according to the emphasis of the Leader on containing inflation and increasing production, his ministry has put a specific plan on its agenda for the current Iranian year (started March 21).

 “The first step is the acceleration of the issuance of business licenses, which started last [Iranian] year, and, until today, 284,000 entrepreneurs have received their licenses,” Ehsan Khandouzi noted, according to IRNA.

-- MPs Slam Opening of Azerbaijan Embassy in Tel Aviv

A group of 210 Iranian lawmakers on Wednesday criticized Azerbaijan for opening an embassy in the occupied Palestinian territories and for appointing an envoy in the region.

In a statement, the lawmakers urged the Iranian foreign ministry to take action and called on Arab and Islamic governments, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Inter-Parliamentary Union to condemn the move.

-- Envoy Blasts West’s Misuse of Human Rights

Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva has censured Western governments for using human rights as a political tool against the Islamic Republic following the UN Human Rights Council’s approval of an anti-Tehran draft resolution.

Ali Bahraini made the remarks in a speech ahead of voting on a draft resolution, titled “Situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran,” proposed by the United Kingdom, Iceland, North Macedonia, the Republic of Moldova and Northern Ireland at the 52nd regular session of the Human Rights Council.

-- Game-change in Syria: Iran to boost air defense

Hamzeh Qalandari, Iran’s deputy defense minister for international affairs, has reiterated Tehran’s dedication to the safety of friendly nations, stating that Tehran sees it as its “obligation” to support the development of Syria’s air defense capabilities in order to fend off Israeli strikes on the country.

Qalandari made the remarks on the sidelines of a ceremony marking International Mine Awareness Day and Assistance in Mine Action in Tehran on Tuesday.

-- Oil, gas sector experiences growth of 9% last Iranian year

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said that the oil and gas sector experienced a growth of nine percent in the past Iranian calendar year 1401 (ended on March 20).

The President considered the growth of production in 1401 promising and said: “We will strongly follow the wise slogan of 1402 which is “Inflation Control and Production growth”.

Iran edged Myanmar 1-0 in their Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024 Asian Qualifiers Round 1 Group B opener on Wednesday at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.

Afsaneh Chatrenoor scored the winning goal in the 52nd minute. The two sides will meet again on Saturday in the reverse fixture.
