“Another blunder by Austrian media: This is a school in Yemen and not in Iran!” said the ambassador on his Twitter account, referring to an April 4 story published by Kronen Zeitung about a new case of poisoning of school girls in the northwestern Iranian city of Tabriz.
The diplomat used #fabricated_information and #misinformation in his tweet.
Back on December 13, 2022, Bagherpour also shared a tweet criticizing Austrian media for failing to “differentiate between Iran and Iraq”, questioning their ability to give their audience accurate information.
The Iranian Embassy in Austria has in the past several months repeatedly denounced the European country’s media for spreading false reports on Iran in line with a Western campaign to push for Iranophobia.
