Speaking to IRNA, Moghaddam hailed the strategic position of Chabahar in Iran, saying that developments in Chabahar will affect Iran's and the world's economies.
He said that $2b worth of investment has been committed to clean energy sector in Chabahar, adding that the construction of solar cell factories has started in the region.
He also pointed to the measures that have been taken in line with the developing tourism industry.
Earlier in a meeting with the Japanese ambassador to Tehran, Kazutoshi Aikawa, Moghaddam had said that Iran's Chabahar Free Trade Zone is ready to host Japanese investors and develop scientific and research relations with the country.
He announced this region's readiness to host investors in the field of surface water management, recirculation of wastewater, completion of treatment plants, and water and sewage system based on social responsibilities.
In the meantime, Afghanistan’s caretaker of the Commerce and Industry Ministry Nooruddin Azizi said that Iran’s Chabahar is linked to international waters of the Indian Ocean, adding that the port is one of the best places for investment by Afghan private and public sectors.
