Iran-Russia friendly football ends 1-1

Tehran, IRNA – National football teams of Iran and Russia ended their friendly game in Tehran's Azadi Stadium, Thursday night, as Iran's new head coach Amir Qalenoie had his first FIFA match with the national team.

The game began at 8:30 pm, March 23, and the referee was Timor Ginolin from Uzbekistan.

Both teams began the game in an aggressive l tactic, which made the ball move in the penalty area of Iran and Russia most of the time.

Iranian national team's first strike was shot in 17th minute of the game by Omid Nurafkan which was blocked by the Russian goalkeeper.

Iran's tall goalkeeper, Beiranvand's very long throws were spectacular in first half of the game, which gave the ball to strikers Taremi and Moqanlu at fine shooting distance to Russia's net.

Russia's best chance, too, was created in 25th minute with Duller Kuzbayev from the penalty field, which Beiranvand mightily blocked.

In 26th minute Russia aggressive presence in penalty field of Iran made Saeed Ezzatollah stop Zikovsky by fault, and the referee whistled for the game's 1st penalty shot, which turned into Russia's 1st goal.

Iran national team's pressure for equaling the result began after receiving that goal, but a serious chance after a fault on Ehsan Haj-Safi was sent to out by Russian Goalkeeper Matoi Safonov.

But the Iranians increased pressure as time was short, but at 41st minute Taremi's pass in penalty field was with carelessness sent to out.

The second half began with Iran's all-aggressive game to make up for the received goal and lead to the Uzbek referee's second whistling as penalty, which was turned to Iran's first and game last goal to turn the result of the friendly game  equal.
