Broadening ties with regional countries  will lead to stability: Iran FM

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian in a phone talk with his Pakistani counterpart said that the expansion of relations with regional countries is a constructive factor leading to development and security.

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in a phone talk with Amirabdollahian discussed the latest developments in bilateral relations, as well as some regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in the phone talk congratulated the Nowruz Eid to his Iranian counterpart and the Iranian nation.

The top Pakistani diplomat also expressed hope that the joint border project agreements between the two countries will soon be officially opened, so that both countries could take advantage of their interests.

He said that the restoration of Tehran-Riyadh full relations is an important move, which is to the benefit of both the region and the Islamic world.

The Iranian foreign minister, too, conveyed the president's warm regards to the high-ranking Pakistani officials and congratulated Nowruz and the National Day of Pakistan also to him and the Pakistani nation.

Amirabdollahian expressed satisfaction over the expanding Tehran-Islamabad relations, and said that after a five-year hiatus in successful holding of Iran-Pakistan Joint Economic Commission its near future convening in Tehran will be quite welcome.
