European Parliament turned into venue for Iranophobic claims: FM Spox.

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani has said that the European Union’s resolution on recent incidents at the Iranian schools shows the legislative body has turned into a place for propagating anti-Iran accusations.

Kanaani made the remark in a response to the European Parliament’s Thursday resolution, which calls on the UN Human Rights Council to carry out an independent investigation into the recent incidents at Iranian girls' schools, while the Islamic Republic announced that specialized teams from its Health Ministry are conducting precise scientific research on the issue.

The spokesman expressed regret over the unfounded and vain accusations leveled by the European Parliament, saying that the initial findings of the judicial officials of Iran shows some of the perpetrators of the crimes at schools, and that the Islamic Republic of Iran is in the position of a complainant.

It is regrettable that some people resort to such measures by stooge elements as a tool to demonize the Islamic Republic, and unfortunately, the European Parliament has been turned into a venue for suspicious and extreme figures to propagate their Iranophobic agenda, he said.

The Islamic Republic will find the perpetrators of the incidents and bring them to justice, but it would not be surprising that the European Union would defend the criminals and urge to stop punishing them, he concluded.
