Al-e Sadeq on Sunday met Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in Baghdad where the two officials discussed ways to develop bilateral relations between.
During the meeting, al-Sudani stressed that his country has adopted a balanced stance on talks about ensuring regional stability and bringing about sustainable development to all brotherly nations in the region.
Prior to that meeting, the Iranian ambassador also held talks with Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid on the latest developments in regional and bilateral ties.
Al-e Sadeq also presented an invitation by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi for his Iraqi counterpart to visit Iran.
The Iraqi president, for his part, described the exchange of delegations between Baghdad and Tehran as an indication of deep relations between the two countries.
Further, he said the resumption of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia would lead to increased stability, welfare, and security in the region.
On March 10, Iran and Saudi Arabia released a statement announcing they had reached an agreement on re-opening their embassies to resume diplomatic ties after seven years.
Iran has appreciated the constructive role played by Iraq in hosting five rounds of talks that led to the agreement with Saudi Arabia.
