The Iraqi presidential media office said in a statement that Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received a written message from Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi through Iran's Ambassador to Baghdad Mohammad-Kazem Ale-Sadegh on Sunday.
Rashid made the remarks in a meeting with Ale-Sadegh and his accompanying delegation.
Expressing his satisfaction with the joint agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia on the resumption of diplomatic ties.
Rashid expressed hope that many positive developments would take place in the region and the world.
Referring to the significance of joint cooperation between the two states in a way that strengthens security and stability in the region, he stressed the need for serious efforts to stop conflicts and achieve global peace and security.
Ale-Sadegh, for his part, appreciated Baghdad's effort in hosting Tehran-Riyadh talks, saying that Iran is determined to continue cooperation with the Iraqi side and enhance mutual ties in line with the interests of the two states.
