Iran condemns Israel's airstrike on Aleppo Int'l Airport

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani condemned the recent terrorist attack on Aleppo International Airport.

Kanaani on Tuesday strongly condemned the aggressive and inhumane attack of the Zionist Apartheid regime on the Aleppo International Airport in Syria on Tuesday morning and called on the responsible international institutions to take immediate and effective action to stop the crimes of this regime.

Kanaani added that while the Syrian earthquake victims in Aleppo are in dire difficult conditions, the Zionist regime attacks the Aleppo airport. which is the main route for international aid to reach them, which is a clear example of a crime against humanity.

He also said that some Western countries and human rights organizations have kept hushed about the continuation of brutal and inhumane attacks by the criminal Zionist regime on Syria, which is an example of encouraging this regime as an aggressor and violator of human rights and international laws and regulations.

An Israeli airstrike hit the Aleppo airport early Tuesday and put it out of service, Syrian state media reported.

Citing a military source, the state news agency SANA said Israel “carried out an air attack from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea, west of Latakia, targeting Aleppo International Airport,” adding that the strike has “caused material damage” to the airport.
