Iranian First Vice-President Mohammad Mokhber and Oman’s Minister of Energy and Minerals Salem bin Nasser Al Aufi met in Tehran on Saturday when the Iranian official urged the need to solve the problems on the way of banking exchanges as core to any economic relation.
Al Aufi is visiting Tehran as special envoy of the Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
Speaking during the meeting, the Iranian vice president also called for increasing the number of weekly flights between Tehran and Muscat.
He also expressed hope that the two countries will witness a speedy implementation of already signed cooperation agreements that have yet to be taken into practice.
The Omani minister, for his part, said that he is in Tehran to pursue the course of cooperation between the two countries in all fields, including energy.
He said that the Omani Sultan has stressed the need for solving the issues hindering bilateral cooperation at the earliest.
